With FS Architect you can create your own scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004!

What is FS Architect?

There are many scenery design tools (some commercial, some freeware) available in to the FS community today. FS Architect provides ground-breaking features in a special package that others try to imitate. In 1999, Architect 2000 was the FIRST tool to provide true-color textured graphics, and now FS Architect is the first to display the true shape, color and texture of 3D macro objects. With support for FS9 XML objects, property grids, plugins, 3D macros, custom texture runways, and photo-realistic texture tools, beginners and experts alike can create GREAT scenery for Flight Simulator. It's easy and fun! If you find that creating new scenery is tedious, complex, and time expensive, please download the TRIAL version of FS Architect. It is a feature-packed professionally designed software for a very reasonable price.

"FS Architect  is the design tool others try to imitate."

Design View
Architect's fully textured 2D and 3D Design View provides a high-fidelity representation of the FS scenery project before the final BGL scenery is created. The user interface is organized, intuitive and consistent.

Property Inspector

Build scenery faster using FS Architect's property inspector.   Press F4 to view and adjust the properties for the currently selected object.

Manage your own collection of library and MDL objects with the Library Object Manager

Easily configure and use MDL files created using GMAX.  You can assign ZIP files (for textures) and MDL files to each entry, and Architect will automatically extract all files to the proper location during compile time.

Add special effects such as fires, lights, fireworks, beacons and windsocks to your scenery.

Plugins/Addons

FS Architect can now be extended with plugin objects. Third party developers will be able to design scenery objects with advanced features and object property dialogs. The first plugin released is a seamless fences and walls object by Shaun Manners. Creating a fence or wall is as easy as drawing a line. This object shows off the true power of a plugin -- the software adjusts the wall segment length automatically so that the wall is seamless at the corners! This is impossible to achieve with a simple macro. The possibilities with plugin objects are endless!

Custom Runway Textures

Every real-world airport and runway has unique characteristics, materials, striping and signs of age and wear. FS Architect  allows you to create runways using your own custom texture. This object supports night lighting textures, and uses the default FS runway lighting parameters. Give every airport it's own unique look!

Easy Photo Texture Grid (PTG)

To create scenery that is truly "As Real as it Gets", FS Architect provides the PTG tool. Large aerial DOQ photographs can be cut up into standard Flight Simulator textures, then easily assigned to cells in the PTG. The result is stunning photo-realistic ground scenery with perfect alignment, and minimum effort.

The PTG textures are displayed in Architect's Design View, so runways, taxiways, buildings, and other 3D objects can be perfectly aligned with the photo-realistic scenery.

Basic Features
The following default objects are included: buildings, roads, taxiways, runways, ground polygons, lines, dotted lines, lines of 3D macro objects, ATIS, NDB, ILS, VOR, hold short lines, taxiway centerline stripes, 3D macros, and refueling boxes. Architect provides settings for width, height, heading, color, texture, special texture flags (night and seasonal settings), visibility parameters, time of day and complexity filters. 3D macros can be used in ANY format, and Architect maintains a library of macros organized in categories for easy access. Once a macro is configured, it can be used over and over with ease.

FS Architect puts more scenery objects in your toolbox.  Create FS2004 compatible runways, aprons, weather & fuel triggers, scenery objects, VOR and NDB.

Helpers

Other design tools allow background images and grids, but Architect goes one step further. An unlimited number of background images and grids can be used throughout the scenery. The background image can be resized and made semi-transparent. Create accurate renditions of real-world scenery using an aerial photograph as a background image.

The grid tool can be rotated and used for alignment and measurement purposes.
